Message im just saying by and large motor vehicle drivers do not give enough concern to cyclists. drivers dont give other drivers enough concern, drivers for the most part dont give enough attention to actually driving their car in the middle of nowhere with no other traffic.
i didnt use to give a flying F^%& about cyclists, until i started researching the laws of the road then realizing the responsibilities of both drivers and cyclists. then when i actually started cycling you realize that all those little laws such small percentages of the population follow, are there for a reason, to protect and provide safety for pedestrians, cyclists, and motorcycle riders.
what people need to realize is that a cyclist, pedestrian, and motorcycle rider has alot more to loose should an accident occur than somebody in a two ton steel cage, and that fact should be respected.
most of my riding in done in large groups sometimes reaching over a hundred, the group acts as one, and yes stops signs are often run and stuff like that. drivers get pissed because "we think were above the law" type deal, its simply more dangerous to have a large group stop for a sign, there are no brake lights on bicycles and all it takes is one person to not realize the group is slowing, or not slow down enough and broken bones, serious injury, death, and entire competitive seasons are over just that easily.
what im really trying to say is to put yourselves in their shoes, and drive accordingly. all i know is i would feel like a real piece of shit human if i caused permanent injury or death or even a minor injury because i was driving like a stupid F%^$, not giving a shit about anything but me and my supremely bad ass z32(a car has a weird way of creating an inflated sense of self importance).
the real lesson is you can never drive too safe around cyclists, pedestrians, and motorcycle riders.
